My daughter (3.5 years old) got her fever on 8Feb Monday morning. I tried the usual way to clear her fever, but this time all didn't seems to work. I brought her to a child specialist clinic to check the next day, and the doctor told me she just had throat infection, and I was given cough syrup, antipyretic, and antibiotic.
The medicine didn't work. She still had her fever, and started coughing with phlegm on the 3rd day. She complained her back was itchy, and I saw some rashes there, so I apply some raw Shea Butter on her to stop the itchiness. I suspected Dengue and decided to use the 'Raw Papaya Leaf Juice' method. I got to know this method from my sister whom once got dengue, and was discharge from hospital after drinking it on the 5th day.
I also receive an email about a man who used it to save his son's life:
'..my son was in the critical stage at the ICU.. from a platelet count of 45 after 20 liters of blood transfusion, and after drinking the raw papaya leaf juice, his platelet count jumps instantly to 135. Even the doctors and nurses were surprised. After the second day he was discharged.'
I thought juice from leaf should not be harmful. Therefore, I decided to stop her cough medicine. Gave my kid 1 big chinese-soup-spoon of raw papaya leaf juice. After 10mins, her fever went down from 39 to 36, and keeping a good temperature for 24 hours! I gave her another spoonful on 4th day to maintain the body temperature.
Then 5th day, I thought she was ok. I stopped giving her the juice, and start the antibiotic for her phlegm.. the fever came back within half a day! She seems weak and keep sleeping!! Midnight immediately gave her another spoon of juice again.
CNY eve (6th day), I brought her to the UH pediatric, and doctor decided to do the blood test due to many-days fever. He told us if we suspect Dengue, then we must stop taking any type of antibiotic and go for a check up. No antibiotic intake because Dengue need the body own immune system to fight, and antibiotic just weaken the immune system. And if Dengue and cough/phlegm happens together, treats the Dengue and forget about the other first.
When the result came out, the doctor was surprise her platelet was at 135, but with the WBC (white blood cell) low at 3.5. "Keep giving what you are giving, she should be fine" was what the doctor said. The next day, we just went back for a 2nd check up, my girl is already jumping up and down (and all of us first time celebrate CNY 1st day at UH!).
I continue giving her the raw papaya leaf juice for 7 days without break, and she's fully recovered. Later I spoke to few mothers, and one mother told me she used it for his son (4 years old) when suspected Dengue and later confirmed as H1N1 case, whom fever also controlled by the juice and recovered later.
These were the steps I did:
1. Pluck 2 pieces of raw papaya leaves from papaya tree, clean the leaves.
2. Tear and take the leafy part (throw away the stem).
3. Cut the leafy part into small pieces and pound them.
4. Squeeze the juice into a bowl, filter it to a spoon.
5. You will only get 1 chinese-soup-spoon of juice (roughly 2 tbsp).
Do not boil or cook or rinse the leaves with hot water. What you need is the raw leave juice. It is very bitter, just swallow it and drink some water to rinse your mouth afterwards.
I believe what the papaya leaf does was not just bringing down fever. It should have some other healing properties bringing the platelet up, and also killing the viruses. However, no institution is studying it.
Well.. this is the start of my CNY. I hope what I have learned and used can benefit others. Please pass around this information, I believe it will safe lives.

hi, i was searching for this book called The Great Mom and Success of Child and came upon your blog, would you know where I can get the book in English version as I cannot read Chinese, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi anonymous, there is Korean version of the book (a Korean told me she read it), but I do not see any English version.
ReplyDeleteRachel, you're absolutely right ! I'd the same experience like you when my daughter had Dengue last year. At first she had a fever and it was on and off. On the 3rd day when her body was full of spots and was examined dengue posiitive. her blood platelet kept on dropping and on the 4th days she was admitted to the hospital and was dripped, however her
ReplyDeleteblood platelet was still dropping, luckily her gum or inner body was not bleeding. Then my sis-in-law told me that someone who had a dengue was drinking the papaya juice and he was recovered, I immediately pounded 2 leaves of papaya juice and given her to drink after food. The next morning when she had a blood test, her blood platelet has raised and she was discharged the following day...

Papaya cures dengue? Nonsense! The 5th day is usually the day the plateles level is rising with or without mango, papaya, guave or even strawberries! It is the behaviour of dengue, not some fruit...
ReplyDeleteHi gasa, 1st of all the papaya don't cure dengue, but we are talking about the raw juice of its leaf that might be a possible solution. If you don't believe it, that's fine.
ReplyDeleteI wrote this because it has help my child, and I hope it can help others too. The 5th day is NOT the "usual" plateles rising day.. and if you read my writing, the 5th day was when my child got worst. If you have visited the hopital, then you know on 5th day some people started bleeding, and some even pass away.
When sickness get worst, and doctor can't do anything, there are people trying all kinds of things wanted to get well, why not give this unharmful leaf juice a chance? Sometimes the world get too "advance" that people thought they need some super medicine to cure, and look down on the most simpliest solution just outside at the backyard that God has created.
Thank you for the information. Is there anyone tried the Papaya leaf for other fevers caused by flu or other infections? It's a green leaf of papaya and has no harm. I will start trying and let you know if there is any progress.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
